Forms and conventions
For my magazine i chose to use the convential music magazine layout, i.e main image large on the center of the page and the artist or bands name in big bold font. The reason i chose to use this convention was because i belived that it worked, and suited the target audience i chose. my target audience in terms of demographics arent all going to be socialy upper class and there for will not aim to buy somehting that is too mentally challenging. there for i chose to keep it simple, hence making a simple read. The same goes for the double page spread and the contents page. My aim was not to make things too confusing, as the magazine represents simplicity in its purest form. The double page spread how ever is set out differentaly and not the same as typical magazine double page spreads as i chose to keep the text to a minimum and also chose to have image on one side and text on the other.

Representation
Fuel magazine, in terms of representation is very steriotypical. And it does represent that steriotype in a comedic fashion. My main reason for this, was to lessing the violent and rebellious light that a chav may been seen as, and add humour, so that to the reader they are not being "fueld" to go out and cause havoc and be violent. "chav" music can be very provoking at times and if often written while in a violent state of mind, there for my aim was to try and provide a new steriotype with my magazine.

Target audience
The target audience i chose to aim my magazine at was steriotypical "chav". My reason for this was that as the recent "chav culture" has been on the uprise it would be a good idea as there is a clearly a market for the magazine and you could even consider it a niche market. I chose to use the magazine not only for music, but also for the comedic value it could hold.

Development of skills and understanding
Looking back on the premlimary task i belive that my photoshop skills have developed and i am now more fluent with the program, i also believe that my knowledge of the layout of magazines, content pages and double page spreads has improved, as has my abilty to spot subtle messages that magazine can be trying to force into our line of sight.
i believe that i could have improved my double page spread and contents page as i feel they are very weak in comparison to my front cover.
The double page spread could have done with being written better and contents page could have done with having a more attractive picture. chose to have the text in bold large font so that it could look like someone vandalizing the page.

Addressing the audience
The layout and design of the magazine is heavily influence by the target audience. I chose to have the text and names of the band in plain view and in the language that the target audience would use. This could also be considered using the language to stereotype the target audience, however the majority of the audience would agree that they aim to be recognised as that certain stereotype. The main image centralised on the page is coloured to make it appealing to the audience but at the same time is giving away a hint at what the magazine could be about and what it could contain.
I chose to have a “Kiss My Fag End” positioned diagonally across the main image. This represents the anarchy and culture that the audience stand for. For example I chose to have the text in bold large font so that it could look like someone vandalizing the page.

Technologies
Layout
When designing the magazine, it was important to consider the lighting and the main image first. However, as i progressed, I found it was more important to focus on the little images, as they seem to make it more of a magazine rather than just a photoshop image.
I chose to to invert the colours behind the main image, purely to attract eyes to the magazine.

Institution
For my magazine I would choose to have it distributed by Dennis.
Considering the pros, and cons of using Dennis I came to the conclusion of this.
As Dennis is a medium sized distribution company, the magazine could benefit and reap the rewards of being aimed as a niche market. Using Dennis could result in more attention being paid to the magazine and its audience rather than a large scale company being interested in how many magazine names it can attain and the amount of revenue it could generate. With this being a pro for my magazine, it could also be considered a con, as the magazine might not make a profit and there for be pointless. This could then bring on the idea of self publishing or using a small scale distribution company.

My college magazine

on my front cover i think that the Word Ambient, is coloured well and the font suites the magazines style. As the word Ambient just touches the blue above it, i chose to have the word Magazine coloured in blue so that it runs paralell with the blue line above and matches. I think i could have chosen a better picture/took a better picture to represent the college as this one shows nothing the college has to offer in the background I.E large playing field, Sports facilities ect. From completing this project is that in order to convey a certain type of message you have to think very carefully about the font, picture colours ect that you use and how they effect the Mise-en-scene that the reader sees.
